time listed
How long roles have been listed
Median days since each live role was first posted. A role listed for months is usually ongoing recruitment: the platform keeps an evergreen posting or sign-up list open all year and contacts people when a matching project starts. It is not a fresh opening, so replies can take longer. Roles listed over 60 days are counted separately.

methodology
How we calculate the Pay Index
1.Checked daily
We check every live job at its source each day and keep a daily record of its status and pay.
2.Converted to USD per hour
Pay posted per task or per year is converted to US dollars per hour. Roles that do not state pay are left out.
3.One value per role
Each role counts once, at the middle of its pay range. The median is the middle of those values. The typical range leaves out the lowest and highest 10% of roles; lowest and highest are the extremes posted.
4.Countries
Country figures include every role that accepts people living in that country.
5.Month on month
Month on month compares each platform's monthly median with the month before.
Full details are on our methodology page.
