About this job
Job Title: Software Engineering Headhunter
Job Type: Contractor
Location: Remote
Job Summary: In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. This is a referral partnership; success fee of $1,000–$5,000 per placement, set per role before sourcing begins.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and engage senior software engineers, machine learning engineers, and data scientists for advanced, part-time, remote roles with frontier AI companies.
• Leverage your professional network and outreach skills to generate qualified referrals for niche tech positions.
• Screen and assess candidates for technical depth, stack knowledge, and relevant experience to ensure strong fit for expert-level AI training projects.
• Utilize Boolean search, freelancer networks, and creative sourcing techniques to uncover hard-to-find engineering talent.
• Facilitate clear and bilingual communication between candidates, customer’s team, and micro1, managing expectations throughout the referral process.
• Maintain accurate documentation of referral activity, pipeline status, and data privacy best practices.
• Provide market insights and feedback to help refine sourcing strategies and role briefs.
• Operate independently, in full compliance with local laws and contractual requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience in software engineering or technical recruiting, preferably sourcing senior and specialized engineering profiles.
• Demonstrated expertise in candidate screening, seniority assessment, and evaluating technical stack knowledge.
• Strong command of Boolean sourcing methods, with a proven ability to access passive talent and freelancer communities.
• Bilingual communication skills and experience with remote, globally distributed teams.
• Deep understanding of data privacy and confidentiality in handling candidate information.
• Professional networking capabilities to uncover and engage top technical talent.
• Ability to work autonomously, delivering high-quality referrals on a flexible, success-based schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Established network of senior software engineers, ML engineers, or data scientists.
• Track record sourcing hard-to-find engineering profiles (embedded, systems, ML infrastructure).
• Ability to manage multiple clients and maintain confidentiality across engagements.
This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employment position. There are no fixed working hours or guaranteed volume of assignments. Contractors are responsible for their own business expenses and applicable taxes.
